As the embers burn and float back down to earth, the gravity of FTX and BlockFi’s recent implosion are still being felt. So many over confident and cocky Bitcoin influencers were paid or incentivized to promote these companies and products on their podcasts, tweets and anywhere they could peddle this garbage. Their reckless behavior led many of their loyal listeners or followers off the proverbial cliff and many lost everything.
We can all make our assumptions and point blame at these easily identifiable cast of characters. Some will claim naivity while others have quickly tried to distance themselves in an attempt to absolve themselves of any liability. Either way none of it really matters. There will be no consequences for their behavior. These same influencers will be paid by new sponsers to promote a whole new set of wares here in the short future.
The best way to judge a person’s character is to observe what they say and do. The following tweet compilation were sourced by our pleb team of sleuths to document some of the actions before and after FTX and Blockfi went south. While this is just a handful of influencers who helped promote what has become one of the biggest scams in the history of Crypto, it does shine a spotlight into how compromised by ad dollars many of the biggest voices in Bitcoin are.
